Effective from 1st April 2024, the National Living Wage (NLW) and National Minimum Wage (NMW) hourly rates will increase. In addition to this, the National Living Wage will now be extended to workers aged 21 and above, whereas previously it was only applicable to those aged 23 and over:

 

From 1 April 2024

National Living Wage (NLW)
 for workers aged 21 and over

£11.44

18-20 year old rate (NMW)

£8.60

16-17 year old rate (NMW)

£6.40

Apprentices

£6.40

Apprentices are entitled to the apprentice rate if they are either:

  • Aged under 19
  • Aged 19 or over and in the first year of their apprenticeship
