After leaving college to start my accounting apprenticeship in industry with another firm I was offered a junior role at JS, which I accepted eagerly after my experience here and the opportunity to move into practice. I had considered going to university to study accounting and finance, however, the idea of learning, earning, and gaining experience all at the same time was a clear winner for me.

During my 5 years at JS, I have progressed from a Junior to a Senior and qualified as a Chartered Certified Accountant (ACCA) in June 2022. The support and exposure to the various elements of accountancy JS have provided me with, as a medium-sized firm, has played a key part in my progression and gaining qualifications.

Working at JS for me is not all about the accounts preparation etc. as I am also part of the social committee and wellbeing and communications strategy group. I love my day-to-day job and the rewards it gives but I also love being part of the social committee and organising events for my colleagues to unwind, relax and have a good time! The work I do with the wellbeing and communications strategy group is also important to me, seeing the ideas turned into reality and implemented, and making a difference is great.

Some of the friends I have made here at JS will be friends for life and I can’t wait to develop my career as an accountant even further here.
