JS team announced as award judges for the BIBA's

JS is delighted to announce that our very own Tax Partner, Lucy Williams, and Accounts Director, Emma Birchall have been chosen as judges for the prestigious North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce BIBA’s awards.

The BIBA's are a celebration of some of the most exciting companies and entrepreneurs based in Lancashire.

Our team will be judging the ‘Employer of the Year’ and ‘Global Business of the Year’ awards, and they are both looking forward to getting stuck in to help crown the 2023 winners.

Emma said, "I am excited to be nominated as a judge for The Global Business of the Year award this year. I am looking forward to finding out more about the entrants in terms of both their development overseas and how they have adapted their businesses to manage the impact of exporting. Sustainability and green initiatives are becoming of more and more interest. As part of my review of the entrants' applications, I will be looking for examples of how the business is working towards reducing their carbon footprint."

Lucy said, "I am delighted to have been chosen as a judge for the BIBAs ‘Employer of the Year’ award. 

This category is one very close to me.  One of my core beliefs is that you don’t build a business, you build people, and people build the business.  I am particularly looking forward to seeing how employers have adapted and shown agility in terms of shifts in expectation and culture resulting from events of the last few years, as well as really understanding what the entrants do to release their people’s full potential. 

In my role as judge, I will be looking for leadership, empowerment, creativity, sustainability, transparency, and inclusivity, all of which in my view are the key points of difference that raise the bar for others to aspire to."

The awards take place on  15 September 2023 at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
